Thailand’s Noppon Saengkham made history at the Saudi Arabian Snooker Masters on Sunday – becoming the first player to hit a 147 at the biggest international tournament in the WST calendar. The world no.22 made a maximum break in the first frame of his Round 3 match against Amir Sarkhosh, producing some majestic matchplay en route to recording the first-ever 147 at a professional event staged in the Kingdom. Saengkham secured passage to Monday’s fourth round with a 4-1 win and is now in line to earn a bumper $65,600 following his sensational exploits.
Sunday’s action saw 32 matches in total with former world champions Neil Robertson, Stuart Bingham, and Graeme Dott beginning their Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters campaigns in winning fashion. Former UK Champion Stephen Maguire and world no.19 Jack Lisowski also prevailed, as did 2024 world championship semi-finalist David Gilbert. Round 4 takes place on Monday before the elite top 16 players enter the event on Tuesday in Round 5.
