Malaysia Tourism Board Strengthens Ties with Saudi Travel Sector through 2025 Promotional Campaign

The Malaysia Tourism Board has announced a promotional campaign in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, scheduled to take place from May 4 to 8, 2025, covering both the capital city of Riyadh and Jeddah. This campaign aligns with the launch of the “Visit Malaysia 2026” initiative and the 2025 Malaysian Cultural Week, reflecting Malaysia’s commitment to expanding its presence in the Saudi travel market.

The Malaysian delegation will be led by the Honorable Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dato’ Seri Tiong King Sing. The campaign will feature the participation of 37 representatives from hotels, travel agencies, resorts, and local tourism bodies, emphasizing Malaysia’s dedication to strengthening its presence in this key tourism source market within Asia and globally.

The campaign aims to showcase Malaysia’s best tourism experiences and increase visitor numbers from the region by highlighting the country’s warm hospitality and promoting key tourist attractions. Malaysia Tourism will spotlight carefully curated travel packages, special offers, and new attractions tailored to the interests of families, luxury travelers, honeymooners, as well as destinations designed for youth and adventure seekers, including lush natural landscapes and tropical rainforests.

To foster stronger relations with local tourism stakeholders, the campaign will include a series of seminars, B2B meetings, and networking sessions, providing an effective platform to present Malaysia’s diverse tourism offerings—from its pristine beaches and dense rainforests to its vibrant culture and world-renowned cuisine.

Commenting on the campaign, the Honourable Minister Dato’ Seri Tiong King Sing stated:
“We warmly invite our friends in Saudi Arabia to discover the wonders of Malaysia as we prepare to welcome you for ‘Visit Malaysia 2026’. Come explore our rich culture, breathtaking scenery, and exceptional hospitality. We are confident Malaysia will offer unforgettable experiences that will make you feel right at home.”

Malaysia recorded 68,382 visitors from Saudi Arabia between January and December 2024, marking a significant 23.7% increase compared to the same period the previous year. According to recent reports, improved air connectivity between the two countries contributed to this growth, with 41 weekly flights operating from Jeddah and Medina to Kuala Lumpur, offering a total weekly capacity of 12,747 seats. This ease of access has strengthened Malaysia’s position as a preferred destination among Saudi travelers.

Malaysia remains committed to attracting more visitors from the Kingdom by offering diverse travel experiences, exceptional hospitality, and seamless air connectivity.
