Hi There,
I am reaching out to share a newly released design statement from Denniston, along with two new renders, as part of the upcoming reveal for Aman’s highly anticipated Amansamar in Wadi Safar, Saudi Arabia.
Amansamar represents a deeply considered architectural response to its extraordinary setting – a contemporary interpretation of traditional Najdi vernacular that blends local heritage with Aman’s signature sense of intimacy, tranquility and restrained luxury.
As outlined in Denniston’s design narrative, the approach deliberately avoids iconic or intrusive gestures. Instead, the architecture is rooted in romance, charm and village-scale geometry, allowing the dramatic escarpments and wadis of Wadi Safar to remain the dominant force.
The masterplan draws inspiration from traditional Najdi settlements – interconnected houses, shaded courtyards, narrow sikkas and barahas – carefully contemporised to create a bespoke Aman language that is unmistakably of its place. The result is a design that balances cultural authenticity with Aman’s global reputation for uncompromising luxury and refined modernity.
With Saudi Arabia’s luxury hospitality landscape evolving at remarkable pace, this is a compelling moment to speak with Denniston about:
- Interpreting Najdi architecture for a contemporary global audience
- Designing within one of the Kingdom’s most historically and culturally significant landscapes
- Balancing Aman’s brand DNA with strong regional identity
- The architectural response to Wadi Safar’s dramatic topography
- Creating differentiated guest experiences across escarpments, wadis and plateaus
We would be delighted to arrange an exclusive interview with Denniston to explore the philosophy and architectural language behind Amansamar in greater depth.
