Day two of Ru’ya, Careers UAE connects Emirati job seekers with expanded line-up of top UAE companies

Hundreds of visitors left the show with job offers from more than 3,000 vacancies available

Day two of the 23nd edition of Ru’ya, Careers UAE at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), continued to welcome young Emirati job seekers looking to connect with leading local and international organisations for career advice and job opportunities.

After a successful first day, day two of the event saw thousands more UAE Nationals visit the country’s leading recruitment, skills development and networking forum, which runs from 24 – 26 September.

More than 3,100 vacancies were confirmed as being available by exhibitors athis year’s Ru’ya, which is supported by Platinum Sponsor First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), Gold Sponsor Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), and Support Sponsors Air Arabia and United Arab Bank Hundreds of visitors left the show with job offers, with Al Ghurair Group and Al Rostamani Group holding 200 interviews and 140 interviews on site respectively, with the latter making seven offers on-the-spot.

These roles span diverse sectors and Ru’ya’s 2024 edition sees first-time participation from a number of new business types among its 150-plus exhibitors including construction, facilities management, media and marketing, e-commerce, and chemicals aligning with the UAE’s drive to diversify and grow its economy. New faces joined familiar local and international brands who return to Ru’ya year after year.

First-time exhibitor and global law firm DLA Piper connected with graduates and spoke about the company’s reasons for deciding to make its debut at Ru’ya, which is taking place in Za’beel Halls 4 – 6 of DWTC.

The packed empowerment programme continued on day two. At the Youth Inspire stage,participants heard from LinkedIn and Dubai College of Tourism on the jobs in most demand in the UAE, and Majid Al Futtaim, with a performance by inspiring young Emirati pianist Dana Al Kuthairi. The challenge to win a job on day two was an architecture urban design challenge, with one full time graduate architect or urban designer job at AECOM and one internship at the Waldorf Astoria DIFC up for grabs. Meanwhile on the Unipreneur stage, Emirati students and recent graduates pitched to many leading employers, including PwC, Galadari Brothers and Hilton Hotels.

Young Emiratis also had the opportunity over the day to increase their employability at the onsite CV Studio run by leading UAE recruitment portal Bayt, offering a complimentary photo booth, allowing participants to capture high-quality images for their job profiles and take part in one-on-one consultations with HR specialists.
